Peel Selects Announcement.
We are saddened to announce that after 38 years of providing Club Volleyball to the region of Peel,
Selects will cease operations for the 2023/2024 season. All 2023/2024 programs and more will now fall
under the direction of Pakmen, Pakmen started in 2002 and has grown to be the #1 Club in Canada with
regards to accomplishments and the programs offered
The Selects club was started in 1985 by Christine Crag ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sbepvGUh0A OVA
Builder Inductee) and Ric McArthur (See bio below). The club has had many successes for its teams and
its athletes over the years.
Also instrumental in the success of Selects over the years has been Ken Jone who as Past President and
coach made sure everything ran smoothly and is often referred by Athletes as the best Coach they every
had.
Ric’s McArthur Coaching Accomplishments over the years:
Inducted into Brampton Sports Hall of Fame 2016
• Canadian University and Ontario College All Star status
• Many full ride scholarships to U.S. schools
• One player won three NCAA Div I championships
• Four players achieved All American status
• Five players have played for the Canadian National team
• Several player have played professionally in Europe
• Two Canadian National Beach Champions
As a team coach, Rick has won:
• Five OFSAA Gold and three OFSAA Bronze
• Multiple Ontario Club Championships with Peel Selects
• Four "Final Four" finishes at the Canadian National Championships
• Gold Medal, as Team Ontario head coach
• OVA Coach of the Year
Selects would like to thank all the coaches, athletes, sponsors, and volunteers who have made it one of
the premier clubs in Ontario and in Canada over the years. Congrats to all on a job well done.
